"En Route to DHL eCommerce" Tracking Status
My DHL package isn't moving. The tracking says EN ROUTE TO DHL ECOMMERCE DISTRIBUTION CENTER OR AWAITING PROCESSING. What does that mean?
1. Your package has not been picked up yet
Chances are, if your label was generated recently, it may still be awaiting pick up by DHL eCommerce. When your order comes in, your fulfillment provider generates a label for the order. It may take a few hours for tracking information to become available. It will show LABEL CREATED and then EN ROUTE TO DHL ECOMMERCE DISTRIBUTION CENTER OR AWAITING PROCESSING.
Once your 3PL generates a manifest (a list of all shipments the driver will pickup that day), the driver will scan it. At this point, your package will show DHL ECOMMERCE CURRENTLY AWAITING SHIPMENT AND TRACKING WILL BE UPDATED WHEN RECEIVED.
This does not mean your package has actually been picked up. It just means the manifest has been scanned by the driver for the pickup your package is supposed to be on.
How to solve:
Wait 24 hours. If your package does not show DHL ECOMMERCE CURRENTLY AWAITING SHIPMENT AND TRACKING WILL BE UPDATED WHEN RECEIVED the manifest your order is on has not been scanned which means your order has not been picked up. You should contact your 3PL as to why it hasn't been picked up.
2. The package is awaiting a scan
If you don't see additional tracking updates after 24 hours, there are a few things that could have happened.
Your 3PL may not have put the package on the pickup it was supposed to be on. Whether they missorted it into another carrier's packages or it is still somewhere in the warehouse, it is not at the DHL eCommerce facility like it should be.
DHL eCommerce processes tens of thousands of packages every day at their processing centers. Sometimes a package misses a scan in the DHL eCommerce facility and sometimes it takes a few extra days to get scanned if they're backed up.
How to solve:
If there is no tracking update after ten days, chances are the package is lost. You should contact your 3PL for more information.
