Help, My DHL eCommerce Tracking is Not Updating. Now What?

DHL eCommerce Tracking is Not Updating: What to Do

If you're wondering why your DHL eCommerce tracking is not updating, there are a few things that could be causing the issue. You'll need to understand what the DHL eCommerce statuses mean and any action you can take it to sort it out.

It is important to note that just because you have a tracking number, it does not mean the package has been shipped. This simply means that a label has been created.

1) Make sure you've entered the correct tracking number

If you entered the wrong tracking number, it will obviously not match your order. All DHL eCommerce domestic tracking numbers start with a 4. International orders normally start with "GM".

Another thing to understand is that DHL eCommerce uses USPS for the final delivery of shipments in the US. So, your initial tracking number will be a DHL tracking number, but your final tracking number will be a USPS tracking number (provided on the DHL tracking page).

2) Your package hasn't been scanned by DHL yet

If the tracking number is entered correctly and says DHL ECOMMERCE CURRENTLY AWAITING SHIPMENT AND TRACKING WILL BE UPDATED WHEN RECEIVED, DHL has most likely not scanned the package yet at their processing facility.

The driver has come to pick up the packages and scanned the manifest your package was on, but it may have missed the scan from DHL or it has not yet arrived at their facility.

Sometimes DHL can take a while to process your shipment when it first arrives at their facility. This is common during holiday periods or when there is a backlog in shipments.

If it has been more than 48 hours since the package was shipped, contact your 3PL or DHL customer service to inquire about the status of your package.

3) Your 3PL has not generated a manifest for the package yet

If the tracking number is correct and no tracking information shows up other than LABEL CREATED or EN ROUTE TO DHL ECOMMERCE DISTRIBUTION CENTER OR AWAITING PROCESSING, it's possible that your fulfillment provider has not had the manifest scanned by the driver who will come to pick up your package.

You can assume at this point that your package has not been picked up.

If it has been more than 48 hours since the tracking number was generated, contact your 3PL or DHL customer service to determine the status of your package.
